Jared Smith’s Life
In Loving Memory of Jared Scott Smith (1985–2025)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jared Scott Smith, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, who departed this life on October 9, 2025.
In keeping with Jared’s loving and generous spirit, as an organ donor, it was his decision to donate life so others may live.
Born on July 19, 1985, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, he moved to Terryville CT where he attended elementary school, and then moved to Long Island New York, where he graduated high school at Northport HS in 2003. That same year he moved to Las Vegas NV and graduated from UNLV with a bachelor’s in economics in 2015. Jared loved music.
He was a gifted guitar player who wrote and sang his own songs. He worked at the Imperial Palace on the Las Vegas Strip, in their Dealertainer venue, imitating Brett Micheals and Kid Rock and dealing blackjack. His most recent position was as medical sales rep for Medtronic. He was so excited to be able to help people. Jared loved to work out at the gym with friends and enjoyed mountain biking and weightlifting. He was a fabulous cook and enjoyed preparing meals for his family and friends.
He loved animals, especially his two dogs and one cat. His smile lit up a room and his witty sense of humor, while at times sarcastic and wry, brought laughter to those around him. His lighthearted and good-natured teasing will be missed. He was a communicate of Central Christian Church where he volunteered as a greeter and enjoyed Central Live’s Nights of Worship. He is survived by his parents, William and Mary Smith of Las Vegas NV. His beloved sister Jennifer Smith Baumgardner and brother-in-law Jeffrey Baumgardner of Los Alamitos CA. He also leaves behind his adored nieces, Lila and Alice Baumgardner and nephew Ethan Baumgardner also from Los Alamitos CA, as well as his aunts and uncle from Corydon IN and many cousins.
He had several close, beloved friends from Las Vegas, New York and Connecticut, who he cherished.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Central’s Hope of Kids program. https://centralchurch.online/hope-for-kids/
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
